Bagshaw’s candidacy for Seattle City Council good for public safety.

(Seattle, WA) – Seattle Fire Fighters Union Local 27 is proud to endorse Sally Bagshaw for Seattle City Council, Position 4.  Ms. Bagshaw is an exceptional choice having recently retired as a King County Prosecutor and being a longtime supporter of public safety and healthy communities.  Sally’s experience in the Prosecutor’s office gives her a unique insight in to the challenges facing first responders in their efforts to protect our communities.

“Seattle Fire Fighters recognize strong leadership and commitment to public safety,” said Kenny Stuart, president of IAFF local 27 representing more than 1000 firefighters and EMTs in Seattle.  “We believe in coming out strong behind candidates who understand that our quality of life in Seattle is built upon a strong economy, and strong public safety.  That’s Sally.”

Seattle Fire Fighters share Sally Bagshaw’s commitment to public service.  Sally’s list of community service is as long as it is distinguished.  Sally established a legal clinic at the YWCA’s Opportunity Place where she and other lawyers provided free legal advice to homeless women.  From 2005 to 2007, Sally chaired Allied Arts Waterfront for All Committee.  She was a leader in the effort to secure a world-class waterfront while protecting and enhancing the environment, assuring freight mobility and creating an economic engine for the Pacific Northwest.

After Sally’s sons were grown, she took the time to learn to fly, fulfilling a lifelong dream.   In her spare time she piloted sick children to medical facilities and camps throughout the region with the non-profit organization Angel Flight.
