RECOGNIZING THE 28TH ANNUAL FALLEN FIRE FIGHTER MEMORIAL WEEKEND IN SEATTLE

Event at Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Occidental Park.

(Seattle, WA) On October 2, 2009, a brief ceremony will be held in front of the Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial in Occidental Park at 9:00am. This event honors all brave fire fighters who have died in the line of duty.The event coincides with the 28^th Annual Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Weekend held at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. In 2008, 103 fire fighters died in the line of duty.

Brief remarks will be given by Seattle Fire Chief Gregory Dean, Seattle Fire Fighter Union President Kenny Stuart, and Fire Department Chaplain Joel Ingebritson. The ceremony will open and close with the presentation of colors by the Walter Kilgore Memorial Honor Guard, and The Seattle Fire Fighters Pipes and Drums will play selections.
