Defined Benefit Pensions are Good for Citizens
Defined benefit retirement plans are sustainable, efficient, and beneficial to taxpayers, as well as to employees, and retirees. Radical changes, such as those suggested by Senators Rodney Tom (D) Medina and Barbara Bailey (R) Oak Harbor, that is, to switch to 401(k) type defined contribution plans, are not only unnecessary, but they are punitive to public employees and are a step in the wrong direction for all workers.

Seattle Fire Fighters Union, Local 27 sadly reports the Line of Duty death of Fire fighter Jess Hernandez E24 B-shift. Brother Hernandez passed away Wednesday, March 20th at his home with his wife Elizabeth by his side. Jess, a 52-year old FF joined the Seattle Fire Department in April, 1993.
