Joseph Bly, with long hair and stocky build, may have appeared intimidating, but that quickly melted into a genuinely caring demeanor, friends and family recalled Friday after his funeral in Everett. (more)
Timothy Joseph Heelan
Tim loved life. He jumped out of planes, explored the undersea world, studied the galaxy, sped down mountains on snowboards and skis, rode motorcycles (often on one wheel), hiked, biked and traveled the world.
His sharp wit, amazing sense of humor and brilliant word-play left all who met him rolling on the floor laughing. (more)

Battalion Chief James Scragg learned two things in the 1995 Pang warehouse fire that killed four of his comrades, including a young member of his own crew: Nothing is more important than the safety of the people who work for you. And nothing about life is certain.
"Never for one second of one day did he take it for granted that he would get tomorrow," said his wife, Stacey Baker. (more)
